The biggest political issue in the U.S. in 2023 will be..

That's a hard one to actually decide what the answer is, no? Accdg to whom? NYT? Some Poll? Inflation is/was up there. Oct 7th and all the domestic evil (anti-semitism, Woke racism, etc) it surfaced is up there. The US is so fractured and siloed I'm not sure there's a definitive answer. In my silo, it's Woke, "Antiracism's" racism, etc. (I'm a libertarian-leaning classical liberal). Lotta peoples' silo it's the ongoing lawfare against Trump. This would be a fascinating issue for your subscribers to respond to. (In a poll format, to make it workable??). But, you may totally not want to go there......

Can't wait for the 2024 quiz.

1. Sad but true. Too many variables to predict next year, though.

2. Yep, inflation being the big one would have been an easy pick. The others are good, too.

3. It's looking like it's effectively over in all but name. Continuing in a small fashion is another unfortunate truth.

4. A and D would have been good guesses. C is possible but that would involve some supreme human arrogance or religious eco-fanaticism of a billionaire. No Bond supervillains yet, thankfully, although some seem to aspire to it.

5. I would have guessed $80-100. The supply/demand metrics seem healthy, but not enough pressure upwards thanks to inflationary downward pressure on economies.

6. Can't stop the signal. The desire for energy and prosperity throughout the world will continue for the foreseeable future.

7. Might have guessed an ousting of Zelensky, but the number of Others is high.

8. Seemed like a calm year for these, at least for landfalls. Not my area of expertise to guess, but I like reading your articles on it. I enjoyed the storms out here in California last winter. Was quite exciting.

9. Interesting. Sounds reasonably good.

10. Congrats on healthy growth.

Merry Christmas and I look forward to your writings next year!

4 C: "Rouge geoengineering." Yes, coloring the planet red would be a serious problem! Mars already has that color covered.

I was going to ask why we are getting the Cambodians involved.

Because they have been so effective at turning carbon-using humans into red sludge? Yikes, this isn't very much in the holiday spirit!

As a canadian, I can also instead reference a play in canadian football, a rouge.
