Still missing from all these discussions is recognition that ice core data shows the world warmer than today about 60% of the last 10,000 years.

Thank you Roger! I've personally become convinced that the threat of CO2 induced warming is sufficiently small that it makes sense for mitigation efforts and their associated costs to to be ranked against the myriad of other priorities/problems that plague mankind. Coming to that conclusion requires effort beyond what one will achieve through casual consumption of mainstream news sources. Considerable economic damage has been, and is being, inflicted on my country (Canada) by those who either haven’t made that effort or see some advantage to perpetuating an alarmist narrative. Challenging the "science" as a means of shifting opinions is incredibly difficult due to the sheer volume of alarmist literature out there and the fact that media chooses to amplify that side of the debate. What you’ve posted today is the sort of thing that cannot be dismissed as it comes straight from "official" sources that the media depends on and it can be easily understood without delving into the "science".
