Supreme Court on climate, making sense of "event attribution," and PAC-12 RIP
Hello paid subscribers! I have three topics to suggest some weekend reads for this week — the Supreme Court decision on EPA, climate “event attribution,” and the big news today in college sports.
First, the Supreme Court yesterday released a ruling on regulation of carbon dioxide emissions by the Environmental Protection Agency. The decision is an odd one, because it makes a judgment on President Obama’s “Clean Power Plan” — which never went into effect and, despite that fact, the U.S. more than met its targets for greenhouse gas reductions. I supported the CPP, but I can see that both the majority and minority in the Supreme Court have valid points to make.
