The hoax is really just a luxury virtue signaling belief from the upper class that lacks God and lacks enough real life struggle and life meaning.
However, their careers are being dismantled by the tech nerds developing AI to replace them and their over-paid fake laptop jobs. Not too that AI needs a lot of power... and thus the Wall Street corporatists are shifting from the dream of large market wins for green energy, to market wins for AI stocks.
Without those careers going away, the armies of professional class Godless voters are going to have to look for work in the real productive economy... the productive economy that relies on reliable and affordable energy.
They will shift their views for their own self interest, and will otherwise be more fulfilled in their careers making, building, growing and fixing real tangible products with their hands... and thus have more life meaning compared to their previous fake laptop jobs where they produced nothing of value.

I personally think this is both a truth and a fallacy. I consider it also to be part of the availability heuristic to see paterns (hence explanations) that aren't there. Our mind looks for paterns as to make the world seem predictable so we have a context in which we can act.
Heuristics are an immense epistemological discovery and should be taught to all people from a young age. But heuristics greatest use is to uncover your own use of them and not to as a tool to discrete the argumentation of an adversary.
Heuristics are at play in some of the narratives, certainly in the extreme weather attribution and disasters narrative.
We get this climate dishonesty in New Zealand all the time. Greenpeace here, where about 5 million dairy cows' milk derived exports keep the economy afloat, runs ads saying 'Big dairy, big storms' (lots of methane disinformation here). Sort of in line with their attempts to suppress vitaminA GM boosted rice, which they have successfully litigated from the world market.
To summarize, the traditional media has utterly failed its duty to inform the public on matters related to the possibility of climate change and has abdicated its responsibility to review press releases before publishing, and generally failed to use the basics of physics, chemistry, material science, and biology to fact check articles before presenting them to the public.

In the absence of any VEI4 or larger volcanic eruptions, or a large uptick in industrial activity, temperatures will continue to increase, probably by ~1.5-2 C.

Surely there are weather and climate phenomena which are not clearly understood and would be excellent subjects for "Gold Standard" research. However, it appears unlikely that these phenomena would be studied when blanket funding is provided to NGOs for study allocation with limited oversight.

Climate is a statistical invention. It’s obfuscation by quantification. The average temperature, humidity, rainfall, barometric pressure, etc. is about as useful as the average length of elephant tusks. The climate (you fill in the noun) is what I call an eternal problem, the kind that politicians and sensationalist journalists love because it’s inarguable and irrefutable, but it persists perpetually always available to scare people into conforming and complying. Weather is what we experience, and it’s always changing because the earth and the solar system and the galaxy and the universe are always changing.
You are on to something! Nobody knows. It’s actually not possible and averages are not vey useful statistics anyway. It’s all based on assumptions which may or may not have any basis in reality. Since they calculate it the same way every time, they argue they can detect a trend which they call global warming, climate change, climate crisis, etc. In addition to the average temperature folly, just consider how they measure the average concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere over time, for the planet. It’s a faith-based secular religion.

When you check out their website, they note with much pride the number of times climate change is in the news. The evangelism has ruined every single nature documentary! There are wonderful photographers, and many things to learn, but really, show them to kids? I certainly wouldn't. I doubt they could ever edit out the maddening propaganda which has infused everything.
