My dad — a world-leading meteorologist and former Colorado State Climatologist, now retired — captures the only photo/video I’ve seen so far of the tornado that passed through Denver yesterday in Highlands Ranch.
He tells my Mom, “Don’t worry I’m a meteorologist” as he goes out to record the tornado on his deck — If I had a dollar for every time I heard this over the past 50 years! He correctly notices that the tornado is sheathed in rain, and he told me that it probably touched down just east of where he recorded this.
Good job Dad!
